Data deletion

1. If you messaged a rental shop on WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger

Some car-rental shops use Garagii Inbox to answer their customers' messages. Garagii stores those chats (messages, photos, voice notes and documents) for the rental shop, and the shop decides how it uses them.

To have your chats deleted:

• ask the rental shop you messaged, or
• email us at [email protected] with the phone number (WhatsApp) or username (Instagram or Messenger) you used, and the name of the rental shop if you know it.

If the request comes to us directly, we inform the rental shop concerned and carry out the deletion.

2. If you are a rental shop or a user of Garagii

• Shop account: the account owner or manager emails [email protected] from the account's registered email address and says what to delete: the whole account, the Inbox data, or specific data.
• Staff member or driver of a rental shop: ask the shop's owner or manager, or email [email protected].

3. Verifying the request

Before deleting, we confirm that the request comes from the person concerned or from the shop concerned, for example by asking for a confirmation from the same phone number or account. We never ask for a password.

4. What is deleted, and in what time

Within 30 days of a verified request, we delete the personal data the request covers, including:

• chats, photos, voice notes and documents stored in Garagii Inbox;
• contact and profile details we hold;
• for accounts: account, user and operational data, except what the law requires to be kept (section 5).

We confirm by email when the deletion is done.

5. What may be kept by law

Some records cannot be deleted before a legal retention period ends. These include invoices, credit notes, VAT records and other financial records, which are kept for at least five (5) years under UAE tax legislation, and data needed for an open legal claim. They are kept for that purpose only and deleted when the period ends.
